Kokrajhar-Six LP schools in Chirang Running without Teacher

At least six LP schools in Chirang district of BTC have been running without a single teacher but the department concerned has not taken any initiative to solve the problem. The issue was raised by opposition MCLA Nirmal Kr. Brahma in the Assembly on Wednesday.

The six government-aided LP schools of Chirang district which are running without a single teacher are -Deolguri LP School, Malivita, Sonapur LP School, Malivita, Banjutbari LP School, Malivita, Bitini LP School, Malivita under Sidli BEEO, Balabari LP School, Runikhata and No.2 Aiepowali LP School, Deosri LP school, all Bodo medium except Aiepowali LP School (Assamese medium) under Sidli BEEO.

After a debate on this issue the deputy chief of BTC, Kampa Borgoyary, who is also the in-charge of the education department, took note and said that the problem was serious and he would immediately look into the matter and take necessary action to depute teachers.

MCLA Nirmal Kr. Brahma informed the Assembly that ” he had already sent a written complaint to the Principal Secretary of BTC against the DEEO, Chirang and BEEO, Sidli Block for failure in posting teachers to the respective schools”.

Brahmpa  also alleged that as per information given by the SMCs of the six LP Schools, the DEEO, Chirang and BEEO of Sidli had not posted teachers to these schools with effect from January, 2017 for reasons best known to them.

He also informed to the house that more than three months had gone without classes and it was direct violation of the Right to Education Act, 2009 and the human and fundamental rights of a child. He further said there should be intervention from the in-charge of the education department against the BEEO and DEEO, Chirang.
